Windows Vista Beta 2 Sucks

http://img.clubic.com/photo/0000014000147426.jpg

Columnist Gary Krakow informs the world that Vista Beta 2 "was one of the worst operating system experiences that I've ever encountered." While this bit of ungrammatical hyperbole is purely subjective, we're slowly getting the feeling that the big V is going to blow a donkey.

Writing for MSNBC, Krakow informs us that the beta version is difficult to handle and that all the prettiness is lost on those with even a passing awareness of OS X. Granted, this was a Beta version, he was trying to drop it onto a laptop, and he got an early, early build, but excuses are excuses. Why drop a Beta release if it's not even decent?

It took me days to install a working version on a new Lenovo ThinkPad X60 laptop with 2GB of memory and all sorts of built-in wireless networking. I tried installing it as an update to the laptop's Windows XP -- but after four hours of churning away the laptop shut down and wouldn't reboot.

We'll give it a try next week, probably, and let you know what's up. Otherwise, we're not holding our breath.

From everything Ive seen and testing out 3 dfferent Windows Vista Beta builds
It is the WORST Windows OS Ever !!!!

Even thou its a beta, its still based on a prev os that (sorta) worked

Microsofts numbering sytem for the beta is a Joke .
Beta 2, year right , look at the build number,
but of course randoms are like ahh look the 2nd beta

When it comes out people flock to try out the latest Windows ,
the more crap Windows Vista means the more people will swap to another os instead :
Windows XP / Windows 2000 , Try out Mac OSX for Intel or swap to linux .

Any microsoft os wont be secure till they finaly make a true set of OS's for different targets
eg
Windows Desktop ( Designed for Home/Desktop use without any Server functions eg ICS,etc)

WIndows Server ( Designed for servers, doesnt have gaming or multimedia programs bundled)

Windows Workstation (Designed for office PC's, doesnt have gaming or multimedia programs
bundled , can only log into a domain controller )

As well as being for a proper target the os wont be fully secure until :
IE , OE , WMP , MSN Messager is removed from installation

Finaly people will move to safe/free programs such as :
Firefox, Thunderbird , Media Player Classic , and Miranda IM or Gaim

Even though some of the drivers have not been made for it (ie my game port and soundcard) i still use it more then windows Xp because of its look and feel. Its Microsofts best piece of work ever!
